STEVEN F. SAMILOW
Mr. Samilow was born in New York, New York. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University in 1985 where he graduated in the top twelve (12%) percent of his class.
Mr. Samilow received his Juris Doctor Degree (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Miami School of Law in 1988 where he graduated in the top two percent (2%) of his class (ranked 9/355). He served as an associate note editor of the University of Miami Law Review and published a case note for which he was honored with the coveted Soia Mentschikoff Award for Excellence in Writing.
Mr. Samilow worked for eight years in the Miami office of Jenner & Block and with several other large and boutique firms in Miami before forming his own law practice.
Mr. Samilow's practice areas include business counseling, business and real estate transactions, state and federal commercial and civil litigation, creditor rights, bankruptcy, foreclosure and foreclosure defense, family law and labor and employment law and appeals. Mr. Samilow has first-chaired trials in the state and federal courts. He has handled civil arbitration proceedings before the American Arbitration Association and securities arbitrations. Mr. Samilow has authored briefs and argued cases in the appellate courts, both on final and interlocutory appeal and by petition for extraordinary writs of certiorari, mandamus and prohibition.
Mr. Samilow is the author of Florida Small-Firm Practice Tools, a two volume practitioner guide published by James Publishing.
